Summer Arts Academy
Registration Information
Summer Arts Academy 2022 will take place at Calvert Middle School on June 27, 28, 29, 30 and July 1. Summer Arts Academy is a week-long day camp for the fine and performing arts for students completing grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. It is open to both CCPS students and non-CCPS students. Students select classes from the areas of Art, Dance, Drama and Music. Camp hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Student work is featured at our end of camp showcase at 2 p.m. on the final day.
Students will select a Major Course which will meet twice a day and two Minor Courses which meet once a day. Please see course descriptions below for this year’s course offerings. Some courses require students to provide an instrument. If this is a problem, please talk to your school music teacher. Students are required to bring a lunch and water bottle each day.
Transportation will be provided to and from two points in the county (Mill Creek Middle School and Windy Hill Middle School). Pick-up and drop-off times will be communicated closer to the camp start date. You may also choose to self-transport your child to/from Calvert Middle School. Photo ID will be required for pick up at all locations.
Students who require medication (prescription, over-the counter, homeopathic, and herbal) during camp hours must have a completed Student Medication Administration Form signed by the authorized prescriber. Medication may not be transported by the student.
Please contact Christie Cook, Supervisor of Fine & Performing Arts, with any questions or concerns.
