Summer Reading Program

Adventure awaits at your library! June 1 - August 17

Calvert Library. Adventure awaits at your library.

Summer reading affords all students the opportunity to enjoy books in a relaxed and leisurely setting while developing a lifelong love of reading. Research has shown that students who read during the summer months retain more learning and move into the new school year more prepared than those students who do not engage in reading. Calvert County Public Schools encourages all students and their families to engage in reading together this summer by exploring books of all kinds for information and enjoyment!

Calvert County Public Schools is in partnership with Calvert Library and its branches to promote summer reading and support students and their families.

Program Details

Calvert Library and Calvert County Public Schools partner for this annual summer initiative to share our love of reading with the community! Adults and students are invited to participate simply by keeping track of the number of books read during the summer on Calvert Library’s Beanstack platform.

As the parent/guardian of a CCPS student, you can help ensure your child is reading over the summer and returns to school in the fall ready to learn. Plus, participants can earn prizes along the way!

Information on the current summer reading program and the Beanstack platform to log books can be found on the Calvert Library website.

Students will have the opportunity to sign up in school or at Calvert Library prior to the start of summer. Students will sign up using their C.R.A.B. card login information.
