Maryland Seal of Biliteracy

Calvert County Public Schools is participating in the Maryland Seal of Biliteracy Program. This distinguished program is voluntary for interested students and recognizes high school students who have attained high levels of proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in one or more languages in addition to English. This recognition will be based upon high levels of proficiency on one of several external assessments such as Advanced Placement examinations or others endorsed by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) and the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). The Seal of Biliteracy will be awarded to students who have met the requirements upon high school graduation as well as those graduating seniors whose test results (AP) might not be received until after graduation.
