The Qustodio Parent App is designed to support families, not replace parenting or classroom instruction. It helps parents:

• Better understand how their child uses technology
• Reinforce household expectations for screen time and online behavior
• Start informed conversations with their child about responsible digital habits

Depending on the options selected by families, parents will be able to:

• View laptop activity logs and summaries showing commonly used apps and websites
• Monitor screen time trends to support balanced routines
• Pause internet access during homework time, family time, or bedtime
• Apply additional content filtering at home that builds on school safety settings
• Access expert guidance and resources on digital safety, apps, and online trends
• Install Qustodio on one personal device per student

Each family also has the option to use Qustodio on one personal device per student at no additional cost. This allows parents to apply similar screen‑time and safety tools on a child’s personal phone, tablet, or computer used at home. Optional paid upgrades are available directly through Qustodio for families who wish to cover additional personal devices.

Protecting student privacy is a priority. It is important for families to know:

• Participation in the Qustodio Parent App is optional
• The school system does not have access to parent‑side app data
• Activity visibility is intended to support family awareness and conversation
• All data handling aligns with FERPA, COPPA, and CIPA requirements
• Parents may request data deletion directly through Qustodio at any time

The Qustodio Parent App is one part of our school system’s overall approach to keeping students safe online. Along with built‑in web filtering on student devices and classroom instructional tools, it helps protect students while they learn at school. At the same time, families play an important role in reinforcing healthy, responsible technology habits at home. When schools and families work together, students benefit most.

The Qustodio app allows parents to view their child’s online activity through an app installed on the student device. Please note that students cannot delete their browsing history in either Chrome or Edge, the two web browsers used on school laptops. Even if you choose not to download the Qustodio app, you can still view your child’s browsing history directly on the student device.

As you review activity information, we encourage families to keep these shared expectations in mind:

• Online activity logs show what was accessed and when, but they may not show the full instructional context. Some websites or videos may be used as part of a class lesson or teacher‑directed activity.
• Certain platforms, such as YouTube, may be used for learning purposes when guided by a teacher.
• Start with a conversation at home. Talking with your child about what they were learning and why a site was used is often the best first step.
• If questions or concerns remain, the school is here to help. Teachers and school staff are partners in supporting safe, appropriate, and meaningful technology use.
