Communications

The Office of Communications connects Calvert County Public Schools with students, families, staff, and the broader community through clear, consistent, accessible, and inclusive communication. The office celebrates district and school achievements, promotes meaningful engagement, strengthens community partnerships, and builds trust through timely and transparent information.

The Director of Communications provides strategic leadership for districtwide communications and serves as the primary communications advisor to district leadership. The Director develops and implements the district’s communications strategy; ensures messaging aligns with the CCPS vision, mission, strategic priorities, and goals; and promotes consistent, accurate, and coordinated communication across schools, departments, and platforms. Responsibilities include public and media relations, internal and external communications, community engagement, brand and reputation management, high-priority district messaging, special-event promotion, and oversight of the Office of Communications. The Director also works collaboratively with school and district leaders to strengthen communication practices, elevate student and staff accomplishments, respond to emerging communication needs, and ensure stakeholders receive the information they need to remain informed and engaged.

The Webmaster manages and supports the district and school websites, school newsletters, social media platforms, and digital communications. The Webmaster helps ensure CCPS content is accurate, timely, engaging, accessible, user-friendly, and visually consistent. Through website management, graphic design, digital storytelling, technical support, and oversight of online communication tools, the Webmaster plays an essential role in keeping the CCPS community informed and connected.

Together, the Office of Communications uses a variety of platforms and resources to strengthen public confidence and ensure stakeholders are informed, engaged, and empowered to support student success in Calvert County Public Schools.
