Inclement Weather Schedules 2020-2021
While students and staff are engaged in virtual, small group in-person, and/or hybrid instruction, CCPS will implement a different set of schedules than those used in prior years for inclement weather. CCPS will have no delayed openings due to inclement weather. The procedures outlined below are to be followed during an inclement weather event during the 2020-2021 school year.
Inclement Weather Schedule Changes
- VIRTUAL INSTRUCTION (CODE VIRTUAL)
Students and staff will follow normal established schedules, and all classes and instruction will be conducted virtually through Teams. School buildings and the Central Office will be open for staff. Internet Cafés will be closed. There will be no meal service for children, no school-sponsored athletics or extracurricular activities, and no student transportation services. Grab ‘n Go meal distribution will be held as scheduled unless otherwise noted.
- NO INSTRUCTION WITH ALL BUILDINGS CLOSED (CODE RED OR CODE WHITE)
There will be no instruction, meal service, or school-sponsored athletics or extracurricular activities, and all schools and the Central Office will be closed. Internet Cafés will be closed. This decision may be implemented at times of widespread internet or power outages or other times when virtual instruction is not feasible. All such days will have to be rescheduled on the 2020-2021 school calendar. Emergency personnel and 12-month staff will be notified regarding Code Red or Code White. Grab ‘n Go meal distribution will be rescheduled.
Code Red: Only emergency personnel report to work.
Code White: No employees report to work.
- EARLY DISMISSAL
All instruction will end early at a time to be announced. Internet Cafés will close early. Meal service for children may also end early. Buildings will close early for staff at an announced time. Athletics and any evening activities will be canceled. Grab ‘n Go meal distribution will be held as scheduled unless otherwise noted.
The following positions are designated as emergency personnel. These staff members are to report to work as noted in the Code descriptions below.
- Superintendent and/or his/her designee
- Designated emergency maintenance staff
- School Facilities supervisory personnel
- Transportation supervisory personnel
- Building Services Manager and Building Services Assistant Manager at all buildings
Liberal Leave Policy
Employees are granted leave without prior written notification or requests being made. Employees must notify their supervisor and complete any necessary leave slips upon their return to work.
