The substitute teacher handbook can be referenced HERE.
The substitute teacher application, four references, copy of high school diploma or GED, and documentation of college degree status, if applicable, and the Live Scan Fingerprint Registration form, are necessary to activate a substitute teacher application.
Upon completion of the above requirements, applicants will be notified of the next Substitute Orientation Day by mail.
One of the requirements for employment in the public schools in Maryland is a background check conducted by the Criminal Justice Information System. This procedure requires that applicants be fingerprinted and a fee of $40.00 collected for the background check. Checks can be made payable to Calvert County Public Schools at the time of orientation.
