All elementary schools have full-time principals, vice principals, media generalists, guidance counselors and special teachers of art, music, physical education, the gifted and handicapped. The average class size is approximately 20 for grades K-2 and 25 for grades 3-5.
All middle schools have, in addition to the traditional staff, teachers of the academically able, special education and foreign language. The average class size is approximately 25.
Each senior high school has four full-time counselors, computer science teachers and Navy Junior ROTC instructors, in addition to a full complement of academic and special teachers. The average class size is approximately 25.
Teaching certificates are issued by the Maryland State Department of Education. Applicants for a teaching position should possess or have sufficient qualifications to obtain one.
