While the current teacher contract remains in effect through June 30, 2016, it specifies negotiable items for FY15 and FY16 will be limited to Article XXIV Salary and Article XX Compensation of the Agreement and two Articles selected by each respective party. Additionally, the parties shall begin good-faith negotiations for the purpose of entering into a successor agreement. between November 16 and on or about December 7.
The school system has dedicated this section on its website to provide information about the negotiation proceedings. As a regular feature of the negotiations update, the school system will provide each teamâ€™s proposals and counterproposals as they are exchanged.
The parties have agreed upon negotiations protocols and have scheduled meeting dates which are open to the public (see below). A copy of the Negotiation Protocols is currently posted on the website.
Following the exchange of proposals, negotiations will begin. The goal is to reach an agreement which addresses the needs of the teachers and the school system.
