Bill has lived in Calvert County
for over 30 years. Prior to moving to Calvert County, he served in the
U.S. Navy, graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, and
then began working for the U.S. Bureau of the Census where he was
employed for 35 years.
His wife of 42 years, Donna, recently retired from her position as
Office Manager at Huntingtown United Methodist Church. They have three
children, Bill, Jr., Beth, and Kerry. All attended Huntingtown
Elementary, Northern Middle School and Northern High School. He has
four grandchildren, two of which attend Calvert County schools. He also
has a step grandson who attends our schools.
Bill was involved in numerous activities (T-Ball, PTA, Citizens
Advisory Groups, Music Boosters etc.) prior to being appointed to the
Board of Education in 1993. When Calvert County changed to an elected
board Bill ran and won.
Since then he has been re-elect several times. He has worked and
continues to work to improve the education of our children.
He has been president of the board several times. He also has been
active in the Maryland Association of Boards of Education serving as its
President in 2007. He received the Willis Award for outstanding
boardmanship from MABE in 2009.
