History

Bill has lived in Calvert County for over 30 years. Prior to moving to Calvert County, he served in the U.S. Navy, graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, and then began working for the U.S. Bureau of the Census where he was employed for 35 years.

His wife of 42 years, Donna, recently retired from her position as Office Manager at Huntingtown United Methodist Church. They have three children, Bill, Jr., Beth, and Kerry. All attended Huntingtown Elementary, Northern Middle School and Northern High School. He has four grandchildren, two of which attend Calvert County schools. He also has a step grandson who attends our schools.

Bill was involved in numerous activities (T-Ball, PTA, Citizens Advisory Groups, Music Boosters etc.) prior to being appointed to the Board of Education in 1993. When Calvert County changed to an elected board Bill ran and won. Since then he has been re-elect several times. He has worked and continues to work to improve the education of our children.

He has been president of the board several times. He also has been active in the Maryland Association of Boards of Education serving as its President in 2007. He received the Willis Award for outstanding boardmanship from MABE in 2009.
